“Salad” at Silly’s

After the morning cheesemaking and vodka adventures in Freeport, we headed back to Portland and decided to go to a nice homey delicious lunch spot not that far away from Kate’s house! It was called Silly’s and it was fun! (boy do I sound sarcastic :P..) That’s what happens when you are bored at home all day and try to make yourself smile!

Boy it was overcast that day! But such is the end of winter. It was a nice brisk weather weekend, but it really made me feel like I was in Maine! Now go inside, get warm and check out our delicious food.

This place really reminds me of Paper Moon Diner in Baltimore. Very silly and fun but still has good food!

Here was my attempt at Health Food. And that attempt soooooo worked. :P It was the ‘Harmonious Chaos – Lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, scallions, white meat chicken, bacon, avocado pulp, black olives & pizza cheese – served with bleu cheese dressing.’ And while it might have not been the healthiest salad option I could have chosen, I’m pretty sure I didn’t gain any weight from that weekend, so there!! The bacon was so nice and crispy and I loved the huge hunks of avocado (which you cannot see).

Katie got the ‘Chix Magnet Lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, onions, pizza cheese, fried chicken strips (pollitos), hot sauce, bbq & bleu cheese sauce.’ Apparently KT alwaysssss gets this and I don’t blame her. Chicken strips with all of those other delicious ingredients?? Yessss.

B got the Moons over my Hammy I believe, wronnggggg- the Eggy Pop. Thanks KT for refreshing my memory! Eggs and Bacon over foccacia with fries. And from what I recall, those fries were pretty good. And you can see C’s falafels in the top left corner of the picture below. Mmm I love falafels, and even though they were an appetizer, I think it filled her up nicely!

All in all, this is just a fun place to go chow with your buds. Worked for us!
