DuClaw Brewery & Restaurant

Last Sunday I joined my old buddies for lunch at DuClaw! Whenever our pal P is in town from Chicago, we always go here! It’s in a central meeting spot for all of us, the beer is pretty good (try the 31!) and the food is tasty. What more can you ask??

Awhile back this place had a fire but they redid the inside nicely and its a fun place to go for either happy hour or for a meal. Check out our lunch dishes below!

So I might have mentioned once or twice that I like strawberries… Well Its True! And DuClaw has had this strawberry salad on their menu for as long as I have been going there (7 years?) and it is the only thing I have ever gotten on the menu! Now you might say that was closed minded and unadventurous, but well I like strawberries, ALOT, and the salad is relatively healthy, so there we go. :-D

They combine romaine lettuce, slivered almonds, red grapes, blue cheese crumbles, grilled chicken breast all combined with a poppyseed dressing. And they make it extra delicious with that asiago toast point! My favorite part about this salad is the fruit and how well the poppyseed dressing accents the strawberries, grapes and cheese. Definitely try it out if you are in the mood for something sweet and light for a meal.

Kelly, (my 28 year old bride to be amiga), got the ‘Fresh ahi tuna dry rubbed with Asian spices, seared on the grill, sliced and drizzled with wasabi soy sauce.’ She absolutely loved the interesting and bright tasting spices they rubbed on the sides. The scallions and sauce paired nicely with the perfectly cooked fish.

Elliot got the Buffalo chicken panini- a definite standby for this place, ‘Breaded chicken strips tossed in a spicy buffalo sauce, topped with pepper jack cheese and. served on panini grilled sourdough bread. Includes a side of bleu cheese for dipping.’ One of my old meal companions (ahem Voldemort…) always got this and it is delicious! The spicy buffalo sauce combined with the breaded chicken and tasty cheese is a sandwich for the heavens.
